sorry for no art in a. long time chat i dont feel like drawing and have zero ideas LMFAO
7th episode of past life felt so much like third life to me. let me explain: every season of the life series has a different tone depending on whose pov you're watching, that much is obvious, but there were certain seasons where the difference between the tone, the motives, the villain and the hero are so massive that it feels like you're watching a completely different story by simply watching the same episode from someone else's pov. i feel like third life is like that the most. if you're watching someone from dogwarts, especially the king or his hand, you know where the server stands, you see filthy desert hippies as a force that causes disorder and chaos, a force that needs to be stopped for the peace of everyone else, but if you watch desert duo or some of the crastle people you see ren as a tyrannical king that has gone mad and only wants blood. the contrast is massive. here, with the villies and "the good guys" i feel the same way. Pearl's death is a tragedy that leaves the villies as the only people grieving her death, leaves them lonely and leaves them wanting revenge. switch to a different pov and the whole episode is a hero story with a happy ending. the tone change is so visible and it's so fascinating to experience. i went from grian's episode feeling that grief in the pit of my stomach to jimmy's episode seeing hope for tomorrow, celebration, happiness and unity - all feelings caused by the same thing.
if you're wondering how the charity event is going
"minecraft is ugly" shut up shut up shut up normie, way to show that you've never played the game yourself, you've never experienced the solitude of exploring the world on your own, you've never met your 1st sunset with panic and fear and your 1000th sunset surrounded by safety, warmth, by your accomplishments and companions you gathered along the way, you've never died to a silly prank while playing with friends, laughing so hard your face hurts. you've never jumped to the end portal and saw the void staring back at you and you've never read the poem made for you, for your life, for your story by the universe that loves you. you've never found a pink sheep or an armadillo or a camel or a cat or a sniffer or listened to the music filled with so much nostalgia you can't help it but cry and smile at the same time. i'm sorry you can't see beauty outside of hyper realism made to pander to people as boring as you. punch some wood and then we'll talk
tragic! characters who you thought had a lovely, almost sibling-like relationship ended up being romantically involved with each other! awkward!
