It was easy how time went by when she had someone to distract her. It used to crawl at a pace, that even a snail would annoying. Every moment spanned what felt like days, only worsened by the crippling loneliness that had followed her like a lost puppy. She had descended more and more into a rut of destructive behavior. As any other human in the world, Griffon had needed company.
And he found her. He made the time pass so fast, she had a hard time wanting to slow down to sleep, to give up any moment she could have with him. He put light on her darkness, reminded her what it meant to be happy, to be loved, to have family. He was her best friend, nothing was going to change that.
Considering the Singer girl’s relationship with others, and trust, it was no secret she would latch onto the one person she had. If he were to leave, if he left her alone, she could never stand the hardships once more of relearning someone, and loving them. With him, she didn’t have to worry. He was always there. He would always be there. There was no doubt for a second in her mind that one day, one day, there would be a glistening ring around her finger, from her nephilim.
Lucky for him, he was the one person she would want to marry.
But she didn’t see that far ahead. Too focused on the here and now. Planning for the future was something she had never done.
“--Jake, you got a letter from some old high school friend inviting you to their wedding, or maybe their baby shower, I didn’t really look at it. Too lacey and-- shiny.”
