Left nephrectomy performed for a patient who had Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)!!

In PKD, clusters of fluid-filled sacs, called cysts, develop in the kidneys and interfere with their ability to filter waste products from the blood. The growth of cysts causes the kidneys to become enlarged and can lead to kidney failure. The main feature of PKD is a bilateral progressive increase in the number of cysts, that may lead to end-stage renal disease due to destruction of the parenchyma, which eventually necessitates the surgical removal of the kidney and transplantation.

Another uti

I had a catheter for my nephrectomy. Pretty sure it gave me a uti, although symptoms didn't start til a week later. Took 3 antibiotics...first one was resistant. 2nd one made my chest tight. 3rd one was a 10 day course of augmentin. The antibiotics have me an infection...so that annoyed the fuck out of me. I've been feeling meh since Friday and guess what. Today I went to urgent care because I'm pretty sure I have another fuckin uti! Same one I'm guessing. Now I'm on bactrim. So now I gotta wait to hear from my team. They're prob gonna wanna wash out my bladder. More anesthesia. Hooray.
