In the Reverse Trio AU is there, like, a general consensus as to how the Valerie situation would be like if Sam were the half-ghost?
Personally, there are three/four different scenarios that I can see happening:
1) Valerie and Sam are still at odds with each other as both students and rivals
In this scenario the original plot between Valerie and Tucker would be recycled, only to have Danny become interested in her instead. Aside from Sam's jealousy, there's the added danger and internal conflict of, "what am I doing? Crushing on the very same girl that wants my best friend killed?" that Danny could go through.
That's the sort of conflict that would've been nice to see explored, both in this AU and in canon.
Following this alternative, Technus would still use Valerie to distract Sam through her emotions, only that this time he'd be using her jealousy against her. And since she already distrusts Valerie, she would have even more reasons to, unlike Danny, immediately accept Tucker's theory that Technus is pushing them together to keep her busy. Whereas Val's reinforced hatred would be a result of Sam all too gladly and eagerly destroying a Valerie robot lookalike.
2) Valerie and Sam crush on each other or become friends as civilians
Deep down, Val and Sam have a lot more in common than canon was willing to admit. From their action-y, take charge personalities, to their mutual distrust of the A-listers.
There could be a moment when, after being picked on by the popular crowd, Sam would angrily snap at Valerie like, "Now you understand why I've never been able to stomach those shallow jerks?!", and, after being thrown away like a used tissue by her so-called friends, she would.
This alternative is mostly so it resembles canon, except that, unlike Danny, I think Sam would actually struggle trying to decide it she can indeed be friends/together with a girl who hates a part of her.
Also, Valerie and Sam dating comes from the fact that there's nothing better than a couple of ass-kicking girlfriends. Sorry, I don't make the rules.
I can also see their relationship as platonic, though, because of the things they have in common and because, maybe, it'd be good for Sam to have a girl friend. As tight as they are, I'm sure there're things she can't really talk about with Danny and Tucker.
And don't tell me these two wouldn't have a blast talking shit of shallow things such as the beauty pageant. Remember, your friends are the ones you talk shit about others with, not the ones you talk shit about LOL
3) Gregor/Elliot and Val's roles are inversed.
In this scenario Elliot would the rich kid whose life was accidentally ruined by Sam to the point he begins to hunt her, and who eventually develops a kinship to her.
While Val would be the mysterious exchange student who happens to love space, and be cool, and pretty and into Danny who he crushes on because they seem to have a lot in common. And who Sam would suspect of being a member of the GIW because to sell her fake persona she goes around wearing white, NASA or space related stuff.
I came up with this basically because I said, "if the trio's roles are reversed, why not reverse Elliot and Valerie's too?"
Any thoughts?
