At the Lancaster Troll Market, Lancaster, PA. I stumbled across this shop in an older building near Historicon a couple weeks ago. It's one-stop shopping for incense, jewelry, art, swords, armor, renfaire & SCA garb, vintage comics, toys, and games, and other random miscellanea tucked into all the corners of the place. Plus there are 2 rooms set aside for game tables.

There's a full cabinet of 1980s AD&D action figures. Around the corner you'll find the deepest nook with old miniatures. I picked up several packs of late 70s/early 80s Ral Partha and Citadel medievals to expand my retro collection. RP's Chaos Lord on Warbeast is complete, and the loose RP/AD&D halfling fighter-thief should make a good leader for a unit of halfling slingers.

Another room had this early edition Runequest on display near some old issues of Dragon and Dungeon magazines.

Weird Question

Ok, so. I have this personal project I'm working on, and for it, I would like to know as many niche/indie nerd stores as I possibly can. So what's your favorite comic/collectible/book/game shop you've ever been to? It can be a franchise, but in that case it must have only a few locations. It can be local, or it could be somewhere you went to kill time on vacation. Thank you tumblr

One day...

when I own my own nerdy store, when I’m finally surrounded by the things I love and I can run things my way, I’m going to do my best to help the community in my own way. Tournaments for charity or some other good causes (child’s play is definitely something I want to be involved in), anime and games for kids, events for underrepresented groups, such as (but certainly not limited to) discussions about women, more specifically strong female protagonists, in games. One day I hope I can see people in my area who are a niche group who don’t feel like they belong  anywhere and help to give them a space they feel comfortable in.

Cup of College

  I Went to the nerd store with my friend Switch, and he and I decided to spontaneously start dancing. We chacha our way past the card game section and just on the thresh hold of the comic book section. When out of the corner of my eye I see someone. I thought we got in someones way so I pull away from his hands, swivel around on my heals, and apologize. Switch was right to ask what I was doing. Because when I actual stopped to look at who I was apologizing to it was a cardboard cut out of Donna Noble from Doctor Who.

I was just at a "nerd store" in peddler's village and I would please like to know why you did not sell any star trek shirts. You had star trek mugs and stickers. You had doctor who shirts and superhero apparel. Now I have but another nerd item to add to my birthday list.
