What if the batfam ran a comics store instead of being vigilantes and their shop is called the BatCave. And somehow TimKon happens.
Sort of background:
- Tim, detective only. He’s not a vigilante but helps out with cases behind the scenes.
- Kon, still Superboy. He discovers the BatCave when he’s in his civilian identity and can’t seem to stop coming after seeing Tim.
- Other Batfam members are also detectives. BatCave is funded by Bruce Wayne and Bruce is generally looking to help the city with his money. They’re not vigilantes, but they are all trained in self defence and basic hacking skills. The bats were chosen by Bruce to become the world’s best detectives.
It starts with Kon coming into the shop, looking for a certain comic he’s been looking all around. Because the BatCave is quite popular, he decides to check this one out. When he’s there, he discovers two things. One, that they do in fact have the comic he’s been looking for. Two, that they have some great looking workers. He is immediately attracted to the worker named Tim, and he is momentarily speechless while Tim asks him if he wants a receipt at the cashier.
Kon ends up showing up there a lot, and most of the time he doesn’t even buy anything. So Tim is suspicious of him and wonders if he’s someone undercover.
Tim voices his concern to the other members of the bat family but they assume he has a crush. It’s true, but Tim’s not buying it. He’s a paranoid detective after all.
He looks deeper into Connor‘s identity, and then he eventually finds out he comes from Metropolis. He also finds out he lives in Metropolis currently as well, so there is no reason for him to come all the way to Gotham weekly. Not even weekly, it’s more like three times a week. He certain that that is definitely not normal.
One day, he’s trying to get back home when he’s nearly mugged, wow that’s so surprising it’s Gotham. Right before the bad guys are about to attack, and Tim gets into a ready stance, Superboy appears out of nowhere and Tim is very confused because why is there a meta in Gotham?
Kon, putting on the Superboy bravado, is immediately flirty with Tim after making sure he’s alright.
Tim, miraculously doesn’t figure it out then. He’s just concerned on why he was in Gotham in the first place.
The next day, Conner comes back to the comic shop. It’s rare for him to come twice in a row, but he does. Kon actually gathered the courage to ask Tim out on a date. So when Kon is at the cashier (yeah, he actually bought something this time, not to just google at Tim,) he asks him when his shift is over.
The detective is immediately on guard, and answers. When Kon asks to meet him afterwards, Tim is already imagining him getting ambushed or something. He secretly calls for backup just in case and it is arranged that Steph will be on lookout.
When Kon meets Tim in the back entrance of the comic shop, he presents Tim with flowers and a corny ass pick up line.
Tim is like. What the fuck. In his comm, Steph is laughing her head off and Tim suddenly thinks of Superboy and /his/ weird pick up lines.
Instead of an answer, Tim just blurts out “you’re Superboy.” As he’s putting two and two together. Kon freezes, and sort of panics like “how do you know that?”
Tim is like “uh, I’m a detective?”
Kon is like “wait what?”
And then they go on a date the end lmfao.
