We took a weekend trip with the intentions of going to Collect-A-Con, but that didn’t happen. I realized that I haven’t done any activities that involved a lot of people since we went to the Rockstar Disrupt Music Festival in June of 2019. Any trip we have taken since has been individual activities like visiting an arcade, a trip to the zoo before quarantine started ,a personal museum tour, a fishing trip, or going to lunch at a restaurant with limited seating. I didn’t realize how badly my anxiety and mental state was affected by constantly staying at home. The idea of being around people threw me into a panic and I couldn’t bring myself to go to a convention that I so badly wanted to experience. I think it’s going to take time for me to get used to being in public again, thankfully I have a beautiful fiancé who is understanding and finds ways for me to enjoy myself even during my panic. In lieu of the convention we went to a fun nerd cafe and enjoyed a yummy meal while playing video games. We also went to Main Event this afternoon before things got busy. I know this post is long, but I feel it’s important for people to know that if this pandemic has affected your mental health you are not alone. Thank you baby girl for all the support and happiness you give me, I am so thankful to be spending my life with you.
