You have just asked me about my favorite thing in this universe (i’m not exaggerating).  It’s the anime Natsume Yuujinchou, which I have probably mentioned before.  It’s described as a healing anime and on one level it’s about a high school boy dealing with youkai (japanese ghosts and spirits) and on the other level it’s about the same boy recovering from trauma and abuse, making a family and friends, and learning to care about himself.  It’s honestly a masterpiece
