Wait so GenoSans ripped Sans out of his timeline, and is planning on sending him back to the new timeline that Chara is about to create by pressing "Continue", correct? Wouldn't that mean that there would be 2 Sanses, then? Since by pressing "Continue", you only go back to your last SAVE, which, in this case, had an alive-and-well Sans in it, and GenoSans is going to send back a Sans from ANOTHER timeline in the new one, then there would be 2 Sanses, right? Unless one of them replaces the other?
Okay I’m going to get into some deep headcannons I’m working with, in this comic, so get ready. Seriously, this might get confusing. As I said in a previous ask, when there is a reset, the world/universe literally destroys itself, and is recreated at the moment the ‘player’ or in this case, Frisk or Chara, chooses to go back to. This can be the very start of the game, or at the last time the player ‘saved’. The game knows when you killed a character, and when you reset, it gives messages referring to that character’s death. Therefore, the Universe knows when a character dies, and recreates that character with this knowledge in place, with the remains left in that Universe of the character (or, the dust is recreated back into the monster.)So this comes back to GenoSans. I don’t really consider it a spoiler, because visually its pretty obvious, GenoSans is either dead, or in the process of dying, therefore, in Universe 1 (or, the Universe GenoSans existed in) there was at least SOME dust left over of GenoSans, before GenoSans blipped out of existence. GenoSans stopped ‘existing’ AND there was dust leftover, therefore, in that Universe, GenoSans was considered ‘dead’. Some of that dust was used to recreate Sans 2, or ‘regular Sans’, in Universe 2. Universe 2 of course, is the Universe this comic has been based in since page 3 of Part 1.So now we’re in Universe 2. Sans 2 has been created by what dust was leftover, and everything’s dandy, until Universe 2 stops existing. In Universe 2, Sans was never truly considered ‘dead’. Sans simply disappeared out of existence (thanks to good ol GenoSans), before existence itself ended. The Universe had nothing to work with, because there was no dust left behind, so Sans himself became a form of a ‘glitch’. He wasn’t considered ‘alive’ or ‘dead’ in the program of the Universe itself, as the Universe ended. So we’re about to enter Universe 3.The start of the game of Undertale, is the focal point where time resets with Frisk’s powers. (Before that, it was Flowey, but I don’t want to make this even MORE complicated, so we’re sticking with Frisk) but we know that the start of the game seems to be the farthest back Frisk can manipulate time. Therefore, the start of the game is the focal point where not only Universe’s break and split from each other, but can be endlessly destroyed and recreated. Therefore, Sans 2, and GenoSans, exist simultaneously, along with any other Sans that exist in the timestream. As Frisk/Chara begins resetting, continuing, and all over altering the timeline, you start getting obvious breaks and fractures in spacetime, which is how you get the alternate Universes, but these ‘fractures’ only start AFTER the player begins playing the game. So before that, there are no alterations, and time goes smoothly (again, ignoring Flowey for simplicity)So before the player ‘starts’ the game, the Universe is fine, all characters that are supposed to be alive are alive, yadda yadda. But AFTER the player starts the game, the fractures in spacetime come into existence. This means, GenoSans, Sans 2, and any changes made, start RIGHT at the MOMENT of the beginning of the game.So before the game starts? Sans is fine and alive. But after the game starts, all the alterations take place. So now that we’re in Universe 3, where Sans was NOT recreated, as the game starts, Sans literally just STOPS EXISTING. Blips right out of existence. Therefore, when GenoSans sends Sans 2 back, there are no Sans’, because the Universe did not have any dust to work with, and there was nothing to say that Sans was either ‘alive’ or ‘dead’ at the reset.Does this make sense? This is obviously WAY too much to explain in comic, but I’m trying to have it make as much sense as possible. Obviously whenever you work with timeline altering ANYTHING, it immediately becomes very complicated, but this is what I’m basing my theories on in this comic.I really really hope this makes sense, I get long winded at this stuff, lol.
