my??? high school eng teacher?? who is the coolest teacher alive??? recced this to me after i gushed about alice in wonderland in his class (ACTUALLY IT WAS BECAUSE I WROTE AN ENTIRE PROJECT IN HIS CLASS ABOUT ALICE: MADNESS RETURNS OOPS) and i found it on youtube and watched it right away!! it’s still my fave alice adaptation to date!!! it’s been years since i watched it last but i will never forget about it because it holds a very dear place in my heart. i simply adore that they used only indoor environments for wonderland, it makes it just that much more dreamlike, children’s-story-like, and it’s also really nostalgic for me because it reminds me more or less of exactly how i played as an introverted child, interacting with things around the house to create stories instead of exploring outside 

it’s also kinda creepy, but i never found it unsettling, i think. you just get used to the skull-heads and weird environments. and although everything is dreamy and detached you never feel threatened by any of them, which is more or less exactly how wonderland plays out anyway. it’s not at all a very faithful adaptation of the book, but it really really captures the spirit of the original in a completely unique way, and it enthralls me to even re-play it in my brain. 

uh, long story short, yes, i have watched it. :’)
