Nested Lands: The Upcoming City-Builder RPG
Nested Lands the ruthless medieval city-builder survival RPG game has sights on Linux with Windows PC. All thanks to the creative minds at 1M Bits Horde, who keep pushing the limits of survival. Which is due to evolve onto Steam and GOG. META Publishing has shared new details about their upcoming city-builder survival RPG, Nested Lands. The recent Open Alpha was available on Windows PC via Steam, and there’s good news for Linux players — native support is in the works.
It [Linux] is actually in our plan for future support.
1M Bits Horde hasn’t shared too many details about Nested Lands' development just yet, but they’ve confirmed native support is on the way. For now, playtests are mainly focusing on Windows PC, though Linux players can still jump in using Proton. Development is using Unity 3D. Developed by 1M Bits Horde, Nested Lands throws you into a harsh world where survival is anything but easy. Your job? Build a settlement, guide your villagers, and keep them alive against all odds. The Alpha gave players a taste of what it’s like to manage a growing community while facing brutal conditions. Villagers can craft, build, and sustain themselves—but only if you lead them wisely. And as your village expands, so do the consequences of your choices. But survival isn’t just about farming and crafting. Bandits are out there, ready to raid your village at any moment. You’ll need to reinforce your defenses, fight off invaders, and, most importantly, survive the deadly plague that has reshaped the world into a twisted nightmare.
Nested Lands Feature Trailer
The world of Nested Lands was once a thriving kingdom, but that’s ancient history. A devastating plague wiped out civilizations, leaving the land a dark and dangerous place. The few survivors who remain are spread out, desperate, and often deadly. Bloodthirsty bandits roam freely, and the infected—mad with disease—are an even greater threat. Show any weakness, and you won’t last long. This isn’t your typical city-builder. Nested Lands forces you to start from nothing, clawing your way to power in a world that’s out to get you. You’ll need to craft tools, gather resources, and build a settlement from the ground up. Every decision matters—do you focus on defenses or food supply? Recruit allies or go it alone? And when winter comes, will your people be ready? This isn’t a game that holds your hand. The world is unpredictable, with random events and harsh weather keeping you on your toes. Your leadership will be in review — will you be a hero to your people, or will they fear your rule? The city-builder survival RPG game is set to launch later this year on Linux and Windows PC via Steam and GOG. Online co-op is planned, but not available in this round of playtesting. Until then, get ready to put your survival skills to the test — Nested Lands won’t go easy on you.
