so the first eps of vox machina s4 came out, but i gotta be strong and start watching only after they all went out. starting early is the devil talking. i started the pitt s2 a week before the last ep, watched in 2 day, rewatched, and thought ill eat my own hair out of anxiety before the final ep came out.

i think idris would make a good lawyer actually. even tho he's very introverted, he can argue well if needed, and he would enjoy just digging through the nuances of the laws and finding different ways around it. problem is, he wouldn't be a rich lawyer, he'd be very picky about the cases he takes and would eventually have a very specific niche, but that niche being people's rights and fighting oppression, and that doesn't exactly pay well. like i can imagine him starting as a prosecutor bcos sending violent ppl to prison sounds fine, but then he sees botched investigations and racial prejudices derailing the justice and becomes a private defender. he would defend anders, even if anders has like two coppers and a thank you card to his name.

It's a funny thing, temptation. Tarquin's never thought himself the type to hold himself back from it. But he's tasted Ashur's lips, and the word takes on a new meaning when the space between him and the Viper is a damn near physical force.

Tarquin clenched his fists tight on Ashur’s lapels. “And you didn’t tell me. None of it.” “I’m sorry.” “I might not be half as pissed if—if you even wanted to talk to me at all!” He shoved him again. “You can’t even look me in the eyes, and you’re acting like nothing happened on that rooftop. Like you’d rather fucking forget.” Ashur’s gaze flicked at last to his, his eyes widening with alarm. “Quin—” “Well maybe it’s not so easy for me. Maybe I’ve been driven crazy just by the thought of your lips for days. Like I’ve tasted nectar from the Golden City, and everything else is dust in comparison.” “I don’t…” “You don’t? You don’t?” Tarquin pressed close, shaking his head. The warmth from that proximity wasn’t the kind he’d hoped to stumble upon when he finally got this close. “Don’t what, Ashur? Don’t want? Never wanted? The way you blush says otherwise, you bastard.” Ashur looked away, and Tarquin’s anger was tied up in knots with his shame. He’d been a prize idiot to think he could have him. “If you don’t want any of this, just say it,” he whispered. “Don’t fucking string me along with those looks—yeah, I caught them, you prick. Don’t be a coward. Tell me you never want to taste me again and I’ll do you the favour you so clearly want and leave you alone.” Ashur’s chest was heaving, something like agony in his eyes. “Quin, I-I can’t—” Tarquin dropped his hands and took a stumbling step back as if Ashur had struck him. He nodded, slowly, biting hard on his cheek, swallowing back a stream of insults he was sure would ruin things completely between them. Another step, yet Ashur still stood there, slumped and ragged against the wall, and still not looking at him. Tarquin turned, and Ashur caught his arm. “Fuck—dammit, you’ve made it clear—” Then Ashur was pulling him close, lifting the veil of his mask up, and his lips were on Tarquin’s, hot and desperate. Tarquin had thought his world had flipped on its head enough over the last day or so. But this? This was something he knew how to take.
