ASOUE Fandom Against Hate

Hey everyone!

I should probably start by acknowledging this blog hasn’t been active since last summer. I’m sincerely sorry for that, my work and personal life have swallowed up my time, but that’s enough about me.

I’ve been thinking for a long time that fandom holds more potential than we sometimes realise in mobilising to make change or provide aid. In the past year I’ve watched events pop up like Fandom Trumps Hate and T100 Fics for BLM raise money and awareness for a multitude of different causes and admired their creativity and initiative. This network has a decent following, and it would be remiss of me not to do anything with it, especially now in the wake of the devastating Atlanta shooting and the unacceptable violence towards the AAPI community.

I’d like to suggest a fandom content raffle which you can participate in as a creator and/or an entrant to raise money for organisations doing important work in these communities.

As a content creator: You will offer to take prompts or commissions on your fandom content for a winner! You will be able to set any and all boundaries in what you’re comfortable creating and I’ll match winners to creators to the best of my ability.

As an entrant: Send a screenshot confirming a donation to any verifiable AAPI fund to me @deweysdenouement - a donation of $5 will be equivalent to one ticket. For example, if you donate $10 I’ll enter you twice, doubling your chances of winning something from our creators! If you have a winning ticket, you'll be able to request a commission of your choice from one of our volunteers. I’ll recommend some places to donate at the end of this post. This screenshot can be an email confirmation and you are obviously encouraged to black out any identifying details.

What next: Contact me either through an ask here or a message on @deweysdenouement if you’d like to put yourself forward as a creator. I’ll need to know whether you’re a writer, artist, both, or something else, and what you’re comfortable writing! I won't set strict dates on filling a commission as everyone's circumstances are different.

I’ll begin taking entries once I’m able to confirm some creators, but I already know some wonderful people ready to participate and I’ll update here regularly.

BTS ‘BE’ COMEBACK COUNTDOWN EVENT

MYGSNet is happy to announce the first ever event to be held in collaboration with KSJSNet. With BTS releasing a new album on November 20, we thought it would be a fun idea to do a countdown event leading up to comeback!

Guidelines:

✩ This event will start on November 13th and end on November 19th!

✩ Your content must include Yoongi or Seokjin in it. They do not have to be the complete focal point but we ask that they are at least included into your creations somehow!

S.P.E.W SOCIETY EVENT 01: Creatures and Ghosts

It's time for S.P.E.W societies very first event! As it's now the beginning of October we found it fitting for this months event to be Halloween based! 🎃

ABOUT THE EVENT

October's event is creatures and Ghosts! We are excited to see all witches, wizards and magical folk participate in this event by making art, writing or editing for any magical creature or ghost depicted in the wizarding world! This event is open to all creators and will be running until October 31st.
