UNI UPDATE WEEK #10 & 11!! + Monday
HAII. yes. so. You might be wondering WHY I didn't post the uni updates these past few weeks...
I kind of stayed home and did nothing.
for two weeks.
So I lost track of time!
To no one's surprise, I just spent the first day of week 10 doing silly doodles that have been posted, like the yay spending two weeks home and the playlist one, then... nothing! Just reading Wangxian fanfics! And staying up until 4 am to wake up at 2 pm! bed rotting fr!
By week 2, aka week 11 of uni, there was a change!
I woke up on Monday, 10 am, to find an email calling for people to work as monitors at a conference to be held on the 24th and 25th. One thing about me? I LOVE CONFERENCES. I THRIVE IN THESE SPACES!! The socializing is amazing!! I have MANY friends from conferences that I participated in HS, who I keep in frequent contact with!
So I signed up IMMEDIATELY!
The rest of the week, hoping to get selected, I started a painting for my childhood best friend! It took me 16 hours...
I already gave it to her, and she loved it!! It is now up on her wall!! So cool.
When painting, I caught up with the hit podcast Distractible, hit podcast Hard Launch, and Markiplier's Let's Play of Subnautica 2, and I watched Smosh Mouth 143! Very funny ep. When I wasn't painting, I was reading the manga of Cherry Magic! and watching the donghua of MDZS, so DAMN WAS IT A GOOD WEEK.
Friday, you can read here that I went to the interview, got selected, and was in a team of 15 people! So cool. I mistook friendship for flirting, and I will make separate posts for silly things that happened at the conference.
Saturday was fun! After working for less than 3 hours, I went to my HS besties' place, met up with the gang, got bday presents!! so cute, and slept over.
I had to wake up at 5:30 am to make it to the scheduled Uber at 6:15 to get to uni by 7 am! We set everything up for the conference, and I was on a team of 4 to register people at the conference! It was fun, I registered very important people, I was so nervous!! I stuttered a lot. I will make a separate post for when I snapped at one of my teammates.
By the afternoon, I had already talked to a few cool people, and I was in charge of one of the vans that took attending international members on a sightseeing trip around the city! I, very smart and awesome, kind of accidentally ended up in a van with THE MOST important people of the whole conference, made friends with them, and even taught them local slang! I got home close to 10 pm, sigh
Monday, we had to be there at 8 am, so I woke up at 6:30! yay. Kind of did a bunch of NOOOTHINGGG, then by 9:50 I took a very fun lady to the coffee break, and we chatted for like 20 minutes or more? She was so cool, I wish I had gotten her card or something. Then, at 10:30, I went to the session that the international ladies from the van invited me to!! It was about women in pub. admin, and resilience. Oh my god, I loved it. Maria, whom I'm name-dropping, oops, lovely Bulgarian lady, at the end of her speech, said, "We, the women of the present, have to keep building for the women of the future." AND SHE POINTED AT ME, DO YOU HEAR ME CRY AND SCREAM AHHHHH. It was so cute and awesome. The most important lady of the conference also said something along those lines and ALSO LOOKED AT ME DIRECTLY IN THE EYES SO COOL AND AWESOME AND CUTE. I seriously made friends with THE coolest people!!
At the end of the closing ceremony, the aforementioned most important lady thanked us students for our incredible performance, attitude, and disposition, WHILE LOOKING AT ME DIRECTLY!! SHE CALLED US AWESOME AND WAS LOOKING AT ME IN MY BIG OL' EYES.
Me, 99% of the conference. It was cold asf, so I was wearing a scarf the entire time lmao
After saying goodbye to Maria, she took me to the side AND GAVE ME A GIFT. SHE ONLY GAVE !!ME!! A GIFT. SO SWEET.
Honestly, it was such a great experience, and I made very good friends with my team as well. So cool, so cool!!!!!
This week, #12, I have class from Wednesday to Friday! thank GOD. I needed the time to rest, and the student strike is finally over! Hopefully it stays that way.
To-do list:
Study every single subject. I need to get back on track.
Thursday, I go to another city FOR A CONFERENCE! I know! So cool!
