Unsolicited advice, but I keep a spreadsheet of everything I spend money on and I enter in the cost & category whenever I purchase something, it’s pretty helpful in making me think about what I’m buying/adjusting my budget Plus making lists is fun

i have an app that does that for me! i mean. in a sorta different way, but. yeah. what i find is that if i’ve never wanted something before, i have Pretty Good control. BUT! if i have ENOUGH money not earmarked for “rent” “bills” or “food”, AND i’ve wanted something either (a.) on multiple occasions before OR (b.) for a very long time (months, if not years) and i COULD buy a thing....
... then it becomes REALLY REALLY HARD.... to not buy the thing.
i’m fine in a “can pay all my expenses” front, but i WOULD like to save some more.... and not spend it all on fifteen blouses that could wait a few paychecks, ya dig?
but then-- when i’m depressy, i end up buying zilch? and a lot of the stuff i’ve been buying is like..... shit for the house. floor mats and stuff we’ve needed but just haven’t got for a while.
idk. it’s. i’m okay-- i don’t get myself into CreditDebt or anything-- but between my adhd-length memory and attention span...... it can be. difficult
