summary: a boy sees you in a bakery and wants to get to know you
author's note: I thought it would be fun to write something neutral, like you can read this and imagine any boy you like, not an specific one. btw inspired by the song The Bakery by Arctic Monkeys :)
warnings: none-ish? (one slight mention of blo0d but nothing graphic)
"Your hand looks heavy... want me to hold it for you?" he smirked.
You giggled lightly as you grabbed your brownies and took the money out of your pocket. "Here", you said, handing it to the person behind the counter.
As you started to walk away from the pastries display, the nameless boy quickly got to the door to open it for you. You laughed again as you left the bakery and he went after you. When he finally reached you, he opened his mouth to speak, but all that came out was "ehm..."
Suddenly, the confidence he had to deliver an ultracheesy pickup line to you was gone, once he realised how beautiful you were. Especially how the sunlight lit your beautiful skin and glinting eyes.
"Pardon?" You teased him, now walking beside him on the sidewalk. "You're just... breathtaking, that's all", he said, while looking down, trying to hide his now burning cheeks.
You couldn't help but smile. This stranger you didn't even know the name of had already made you giggle two times within the span of approximately 3 minutes, and was now complimenting you too.
"Thank you", you told him while also blushing. "You're adorable".
That was the last straw. Absolutely all the blood from his body went straight to his cheeks, and his face muscles made him smile widely at you, not even having to think a little bit to do so.
"Actually, it feels kinda heavy", you said.
"Hm?" He asked, confused.
You then lifted your hand with your palm facing upwards. "Do this." And he did. What you did next made him feel something he had never felt before, a weird feeling in his stomach, as if a bunch of butterflies were flying inside of it. You just placed your hand on top of his. As simple as that act was, for him it meant a lot more, like a chance you gave him to get to know you better.
