dead
The transformation was horrific. Like watching a movie. Something clawed at Allen from the inside. It burned and writhed and screamed through his lips. And they couldn’t even get close to comfort him. No one could touch him now.
Nea crawled forth, out of his cell buried deep with Allen’s soul. The boy faded to make way for the monster. A caterpillar worming out of a cocoon But not as beautiful. Never. Allen was beautiful on his own.
Lavi lunged forward only to be caught in someone’s arms. They were trying hard not to look. They wanted Lavi to do the same. But when Allen fell still, how could he?
“Allen!” He screamed, his voice raw.
The boy picked his head up. There was hope.
Hope died within minutes.
“There is no Allen. Not anymore.”
