Backstory:

She was always neglected by her parents. They wanted her to always have high grades, but when she didn't meet their expectations, they would yell at her or hit her.

Her twin brother, Emrys, is the opposite. He always had the highest grades but that wasn't enough for their parents.

Her brother, was the only person who understood her and was close to her, until he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was given one more year to live. She fell into depression, being alone now that Emrys was always in the hospital. She was also bullied at school because of her appearance (she is very pale and her hair is very light), kids said she looked like she had albinism. She was kinda shy, so she didn’t do anything. Because of all this she is kinda anxious and gets really bad anxiety attacks when anything, no matter how small, happens.

Dora is the Croatian national competition where juries and the public vote on which song will represent us at the Eurovision Song Contest each year.

Yesterday, the songs of all the participants that will compete this year were released and this was by far my favorite. A true ethno Slavic banger.

We've had non-qualifiers year after year and we sent cutesie generic pop songs in English far too many times, so I'm really hoping this year we send something different, yet true to us - a song in Croatian in a traditional style.
