The best dynamic ever is evil adoption, actually. You know, when the hero is a child and the villain tries to legally or emotionally adopt them or become their mentor. It has so many options- do the villain feel paternal towards the hero? Do they have something to gain? Does the hero need a loving family? Is that villain a good parent? Are the villain and the actual guardian/mentor of the hero in a middle of a messy divorce? A+ dynamic.
