One year ago, I posted my first chapter EVER on AO3, and now I'm posting my 22nd.
Over a hundred kudos and I still can’t believe it. All I can say is how wonderful and insightful this year has been cuz of this story.
If you’ve followed my story, thank you so much for sticking with me. I write mostly because I want to read it (after forgetting about it, kinda like finding a dollar in a pair of old pants), but it’s so nice to see other people appreciate something I put a lot of effort into.
I don’t think I could’ve finished most chapters if not for thinking other people might enjoy the plot lines, haha. So, really, thank you.
Honestly, I’ve been so obsessed with it that I think I’m going crazy. I initially started it to improve my English writing and because I couldn’t find any dark and dramatic fanfics about an adult Frisk 😭😭, so I said fuck it, I’ll do it myself lol.
Months of writing and university classes later, and I think my writing has improved a bit. I can’t read my original work without cringing, so I’ve rewritten quite a lot of the original text.
If you’re interested in a dark, angsty view of Frisk’s life after the underground, then give my story a chance. See if it’s your cup of tea. I try to go in-depth about the relationship between Frisk and all their caretakers. Answering questions like: What’s it like to take care of the family that raised you? What happens when a kid is raised a hero? What’s it like to see your family treated poorly only because of their race? And how being different than your family actually affects you.
As the queer eldest daughter of an immigrant family, you can see how those scenarios hit close to home, haha.
I'm glad to keep working on this story and look forward to finishing it soon. Honestly, I can't wait until it's completed!

Summary:
Frisk had a plan for everything. A plan for their education. A plan for their career. A plan for the next thirty years of their life, and exactly how they were going to free monsterkind from humanity.
But Frisk didn’t have a plan for this.
What is there to do when your body is dying and you can’t time-travel your way out? What can you do when the secrets you hide slip out of your control, ready to destroy the life you built? Frisk didn't know, so they do the thing they know how to do best—run away.
