(draft) SURVIVAL MODE – CLEXA’S SEVERANCE
(I've found this draft I wrote many months ago when I was watching Severence for the second time, and I decided to post it now since everything that I've been trying to write lately is just a pile of bad sentences and trash. And please watch Severance, Dichen Lachman is beautiful as ever)
Ding.
Lexa W. almost chokes at the abrupt racing of her heart, “waking up” in a jolt with the awful sensation of being trapped between metallic walls. As she tries to control her breath, she blinks one, two, three times.
The elevator’s doors open, but she is still not acquainted with her surroundings. She feels dizzy, lightheaded, and her brain is flooded with a rush of emotions that she can’t remember where they came from.
The first day that happened, she needed to hold firm at both bars fixed on the walls of the tiny, claustrophobic, metallic box they called elevator. After some months of adjustment, her head would only spin slightly, while she managed through the dizziness and kept the ground under her feet.
Today is not one of these days, though.
First is the white clock hung on the wall that greets her silently at the waiting room – it’s precisely eight AM. She doesn’t know if it’s sunny or cloudy outside. Below the clock and aligned perfectly in the middle of the room between two armchairs, Mr. Titus holds a severe expression that changes into a plastic smile the second Lexa’s eyes meet his.
“- Good morning, Lexa W. Welcome back.”
The brunette tightens her jaw and swallows dryly. There is a hint of despair rushing inside her veins even after the side effects of her “awakening”. She bites the inner side of her cheek to contain her pull to say something harsh towards that insufferable man, because she has things more important to deal with. Way more important.
With the precision that threats compulsion, Mr. Titus doesn’t wait for Lexa W. to respond and turns on his hills to the labyrinth of white walls and hallways, walking in measured, sharp steps. Aside from a tight nod that the bald son of a prick doesn’t pay attention to, she follows him in silence. Before she even notices, she moves her hands to her back and holds them there, shoulders stiff as a bord and a rhythmic pace.
“- About the last issue that happened in MDR, The Board guarantees you and your team that such events as animosity between different departments will not happen again, Microdata Refinement has no motives for hold any defensive behavior towards –“
It doesn’t take long for Mr. Titus voice and words turn into a monotonous noise to Lexa W’s ears. She is too busy trying to count the turns and doors that separate the path between the elevators, the break room and that strange, dark room that Gustus B. had told her last time they met. She repeats in her mind as her eyes scans the white walls, looking desperately for any sort of detail that could help to detect the difference between the paths and the sections of the building.
Turn left, turn left, turn right, turn left, turn right, turn right, count seven times to your left and turn right, and follow to the end of the hallway.
Her heart beats loudly against her ribcage. There’s been two elevators opening sound (Lexa W. has her own way of counting the days) since the episode that changed her life forever.

(Two days ago)
- You think that hiding from your feelings makes you above it all, - Clarke G. traps Lexa W between her body and the sink. The leader of MDR shivers at the sensation of being surrounded by Clarke G’s anger and her lavender perfume. She wonders if Clarke’s outtie knows this perfume is addictive to Lexa W’s senses.
And there it comes, words sharp as knives: - But I see right through you.
They both hear the low thud of Lexa W’s back against the faux marble structure. The blonde keeps her ground, unwavering even under the severeness of the eyes of her superior.
Lexa W’s lips tremble – she wants to scream, push Clarke G. away and scape from that claustrophobic space -, goddamn it, woman!
But she also feels the magnetic pull towards that same woman’s lips.
It’s annoying how much she wants to kiss that stupid, beautiful mole that makes Clarke G’s smile even more stunning and-
-- Get. Out. – Lexa W growls.
Clarke G takes one step closer. The brunette feels the blonde’s chest brush against hers. Everything inside her burns in annoyance and desire.
She wonders if this is what the Kier once called “attachment”.
Tarnished but so grand

Chapter 33: After
God, my job is literally killing me. I've been at this place for three years, and everything was fine — but over the last four months, it's become absolutely awful. All because one super toxic person joined the company and has been tearing the team apart with gossip and office politics.
I hate people like that.
I have no energy left, not even for writing fanfics — which always used to be my escape. Total nightmare.
I love the videos! Do they take long to make?
Thank you!🖤
Oh, it takes an INCREDIBLE amount of time... I use several AIs at once, and I also search for stock videos or clips from TV shows.
Writing prompts for generating photos (and AI often produces complete garbage, so I have to try many times to get exactly what I need) — the same story goes for video generation. Writing the script, editing... oh, overall, it costs me a lot of nerves — I even get an eye twitch sometimes from nervous tics, lol.
But I love bringing this work to life so much... nothing can stop me. 😅
Chapter 32: Hunting Ground
Lexa put the phone away and turned. Her eyes found Clarke immediately. The senator had not taken her eyes off her once, standing at the edge of the lit section of the garage. Graves gave Collins a quick nod to let him know she needed two minutes, then headed toward Clarke.
Clarke felt her breath catch. When Lexa stopped in front of her, she carried the smell of gun oil, cold air, and the kind of danger that comes off someone fully prepared to kill. The commander’s mask was still set hard across her face, but deep in her pupils, when they met Clarke’s gaze, something flickered with pain.
“Come with me.” Lexa took her gently by the elbow and drew her into a narrow, dark recess behind stacked equipment crates, hidden from curious eyes and camera lenses.
In the half-dark, the hum of idling engines became muted, turning into a low vibration under their feet. Clarke broke first. She pressed herself into Lexa almost desperately, clutching at the stiff fabric of her jacket with shaking fingers. She made no attempt to hide it.
“I’ve never seen...” Clarke faltered, pressing her forehead to Lexa’s shoulder, feeling the hard line of body armor under her chin. “How this happens. All this equipment, these weapons... it feels so final.”
Lexa set both hands on Clarke’s waist and pulled her in sharply, forcing their bodies into full contact. Even through the layers of gear, Clarke could feel the physical calm in her, steady and grounded, passing into her like warmth from heated stone and quieting the storm inside.
“Because it is final, Clarke. That’s the point.”
“Promise me.” Clarke lifted her head, burying her face for a moment in the curve of Lexa’s neck. She inhaled greedily, as if trying to memorize her scent. “Promise me you’ll be careful. That you’ll come back. I won’t survive it if this night takes you too. It’s too much... too much for one person.”
Lexa drew back from her slowly, with obvious effort, just enough to look her in the eyes. In them she saw not only mortal fear for Lizzie, but the naked, desperate attachment Clarke no longer bothered trying to hide. Graves lifted a hand, and her fingers felt frighteningly rough as they touched the delicate skin of Clarke’s cheek. Her thumb moved slowly across Clarke’s lower lip, making it part slightly.
“Look at me, Clarke,” Graves said quietly. “This is what I’ve done my whole life. We are not going in there to die. We’re going to take back what’s ours. Do you hear me? Ours.”
Clarke inhaled sharply, her lashes trembling. Without breaking the heavy, magnetic contact between them, Lexa bent toward her. The kiss was deep, lingering, and devastatingly intimate. It held promise, rage, and all the tenderness Lexa never trusted herself enough to put into words. Clarke answered instantly, threading her fingers into the hair at the back of Lexa’s head, trying to breathe that certainty into herself.
When they pulled apart, both of them were breathing hard. Lexa didn’t let her go, pressing her forehead to Clarke’s and letting their breath mix. Her hand slid to the back of Clarke’s neck, holding her in that moment for a few seconds longer.
“Stay in Rivers’s office,” Lexa whispered against her lips. “Sonny will keep feeding you updates. Do not try to contact Julia or make contact yourself. Trust me. Let me finish this.”
“I already trust you more than I trust anyone,” Clarke breathed, eyes closed. “Go.”
Lexa gave her hand one last hard squeeze, almost painful, then stepped back out of the shadows in a single sharp motion. Her whole body changed immediately. Her shoulders squared, her stride turned clipped and exact, and her face became a sealed, unreadable mask again.
Clarke remained standing in the dimness, her fingertips pressed to her burning mouth, where the taste of Lexa still lingered.
“Teams, in the vehicles!” Lexa’s voice rang through the garage, bouncing off the concrete walls.
