MySpace Undead
Does anyone out there still use MySpace? The obvious answer to that is: No. People do not “still use “MySpace” – but if you take a peek at the website now, you will notice just how different it is from the old MySpace that we used to rant and complain about. It looks much different from any other sort of social media service, and it definitely does not look like the linear layout of Facebook we are all so used to. MySpace, for what it was, had many problems that were out of its control. It became an advertising den long before they ever intended to monetize and make profits from it. Choosing to mimic Facebook and what they are capable of today would be a solid mistake. They simply cannot compare to what Facebook has created. Even Google+ remains unused and stagnant, since few are actually willing to use it over their old standby. Today’s MySpace has been changed into a media first website, which focuses on artists and music rather than personal webspace. I believe this approach just might work for them, since they are starting out on their own avenue rather than trying to steal usership from other sources. http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2013/06/myspace-undead-key-post-re-launch-metrics.html
