To Ranger Rai,
I know your stance on the current age kids are allowed to become trainers. But what about how some parents let these new trainers take younger siblings with them? On one hand, it does reveal the hidden hassles on Journeys most glory day stories tend to neglect telling. The younger kids get real experience on seeing a rookie make mistakes training their Pokémon which they can avoid. On the other, they need to feed another person and make sure their younger sibling doesn’t get into serious trouble. Kids do dumb stuff even when they know better so have them get to explore all kinds of new places drains their willingness to listen more…
If the new trainer in question is traveling with other people/friends they trust, then I guess it is a decent tactic to teach the young ones. Just what are your thoughts on this? (I agree that the trainer age should be at a point the kids can understand serious stuff. Who knows what they will on hikes, predatory Pokémon won’t always eat cleanly… Having mandatory survival lessons would probably help in every region.)
While I see what you're getting at, I honestly do not think that's a good idea.
Young trainers are already being allowed to explore with little supervision or experience, so how would sending a barely experienced child out with an even less experienced child be better?
The issue isn't that they need someone to travel with, because a lot of young trainers will travel together for a while.
The issue is that the trainers going out are just a bit too young to be able to handle themselves in an emergency.
Young trainers need a bit more experience and time before they are ready for such a long trip, and bringing younger kids would only make it more difficult.
A better solution is to have small courses where older and more experienced trainers guide soon to be trainers and help them learn of things to avoid, and assess if they are ready.
The process needs ro be a little tighter so kids aren't getting lost and hurt as often.
I think you have a good idea, but it's just not quite the solution here.

My fastest 5k in over 3 years
It's been a week of highs and lows - I've struggled with loneliness, but managed to run my fastest 5k in over three years @sotonparkrun #loverunning #loveparkun
This has been such a week of highs and lows. I’ve been away from home, so have missed some training sessions and haven’t eaten healthily, but I’ve also run my fastest 5k in over 3 years! Trip to Birmingham After missing my long run on Sunday, I had a busy day on Monday. I spent the morning at work and then caught a train to Birmingham to go to Digifest. For previous work trips, I’ve taken my…
