As happy as I am for Samuel Barnett, I think a lot of people were hoping that #NewCase was...a final goodbye to Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. A canon one at least. One final adventure so that the end of season 2 wasn’t so... jarring.
But I think that this could be good. At least for me. It’s basically the establishment™ saying that there won’t be anymore Dirk Gently content, which in a disappointing way, kind of forces me to move on, which I think is healthy. Instead of always hoping and checking it’ll come back.
DGHDA will always have a place in my heart, but now I know it’s fully over, I can put it to rest. Thank you to everyone in this fandom who ever contributed amazing fanart or fanfics. You made being in this community just as fun as actually watching the show. Thanks guys, it’s been rad :)
