base is fuckin dead but him and iain still have more chemistry than ruby and iain ever will

uh some base and iain headcanons??

this is a jumble of different headcanons that i have in my head rn so.. sorry if it’s messy

also warning this is gonna be hella long but i cant change that because im on mobile... sorry

- lets like. rewind 3 and a half episodes

- instead of being dumb and going to the pub and getting into a fight, iain takes up on base’s offer to just sit and talk

- they go back to base’s instead because iain’s place is a mess

- iain proper opens up to base about everything and base promises to be there for him

- the same way iain was there for him

- so they naturally end up spending a lot more time together

- iain learns some Dumb Shit about base in this time

- first of all, base can play guitar (which was kind of implied in canon anyway)

- he’s good at it but as for singing... not so much

- you know the one scene from brooklyn 99? where jake is trying to “annoy him into talking”?

- yeah that. iain walks in, base is lying across the couch playing the guitar, he looks iain dead in the eye and just /monotone shrieking/

- base is also pretty good at drawing

- probably something he was good at in school and got back into while he was in rehab

- lots of drawings of mia and iain

- also draws cats he sees outside

- he’s also very ticklish and iain is Very Aware of this

- one day they’re fighting over the remote (because they’re like 10) and base being the tall dickhead he is has it held above his head, arms in the air

- big mistake because iain KNOWS how ticklish he is and within five seconds base is on the floor and iain has the remote

- speaking of fighting over the remote, they playfight a fair amount because thats some cute shit

- usually ends up with iain sat on base’s hips, hands on his chest or shoulders and absolutely crying from laughter

- whenever that happens suddenly his mind goes blank and he cant remember why they were fighting in the first place

- this is also how they first kissed

- one day base just puts his hands on iain’s waist and just. leans in softly for a kiss

- iain does NOT object and hold’s base’s face

- it’s soft as Fuck

- base loves physical contact with people he cares about

- he didn’t have a great childhood probably and missed out on a lot of affection and now he just wants to be Held by someone (iain is more than willing to do that)

- it works out for both of them because iain likes it too

- one day iain comes home to base’s flat after a long shift and base (who’s had a rough day himself) immediately walks over to him and buries his face in his neck

- iain wraps his arms around him, one hand on the back of base’s head and feels base relax against him

- they spend the rest of the night curled on the sofa together watching tv and eating pizza, base’s head resting on iain’s chest and iain running a hand through his hair, other hand tangled with base’s

- i’m really rambling now so i’ll just finish off with one last one

- base loves toast (he always burns it tho?? dumbass)

- if he’s sulking with iain all iain has to do is make him toast and he’s immediately forgiven

- most of this is me projecting onto a character because i cant bear to accept he’s d**d but who cares? i decided canon doesn’t exist like 5 episodes ago

this whole situation is even worse when you realise that after the gun incident iain accepts that he is struggling and that base was right... he went to base’s house to apologise to him because the last time they spoke they argued but he never got to make it up to him because base is dead now...
