MDF - Medium Density Fiberboard . I have a love-hate relationship with it. . I love it because it's stable, flat, takes paint well and cheap! . I hate it because it's ruined by water, cheap and weak. . Over the years I have found a couple applications where it's beneficial to me. I use it ass a wall substrate where drywall needs to meet a solid surface. I use it as panels on my shaker doors. Paint doesn't last on a sharp edge so we rounded over these jamb extensions for our window trim. It is a small detail that will keep this job looking good in the years to come.
