Thoughts on the Mortal Kombat II delay
I'm so bitter about this movie being delayed (like most of us) but I'm not really surprised. I already/hate WB and its head executives for being IDIOTS before this delay even happened. It took them releasing trailers and seeing the "record breaking" views two months before the ACTUAL movie's release (which i was already SO mad about and said it should have been sooner), before they realized "Oh we DO have fans... this could be hit!" MK ALREADY HAS BUILT IN FANBASE !! THEY SHOULD KNOW THIS! And recently I Ioved seeing all these fangirls (who don't really know MK) get hype for the movie just for Karl Urban- that would give you MORE fans/ for your audience. YOU ALSO HAD A TIE IN with the NES' new game collection and documentary.
And I hear people saying its about re shoots/ editing... guys trust me its not about any of that. Maybe CGI wise but they’re NOT getting those actors back. I don’t think they have the money/time /scheduling. In this time in the industry that's NOT happening at this point with how Hollywood is right now. Time is money and they're not spending anymore more on this movie. Plus they said it got positive test screenings.
I think they now know how much MORE marketing they need to do (WHICH I WAS ALREADY YELLING FROM THE ROOFTOPS THIS WHOLE SUMMER!!)

I believe WB/newline realized how much marketing they FAILED to do. Like they were just so focused on advertising for Final Destination bloodlines and Superman this year and now went "Oh no!" and are scrambling. They’re like "QUICK! Push it back! We need to do a comic cons and more press" .... yeah no shit you should have done this years/months ago!!! I also think they'll have MORE competition that month in 2026... but we'll have to wait and see.
Sorry if this is so aggressive but these are FACTS. I also HATE how everyone is complaining about Jade's hair (or lack of). I'm pretty sure it's actually gonna be a plot point (one actor hinted at it and I have more own theory that I'll post about later) but these stupid fanboys only care about looks. Even the games sometimes change up characters appearance and people don't get THIS mad. It's not like its Sindel-who needs to have long hair lmfao.
ANYYYWAYY that's it for now. It feels good to get this off my chest but yeah this whole things has made me loose a little bit of my excitement for the film. I just keep thinking about how the actors already cast are getting older too (my bb Hiro :/) !!So unless we get a 3rd movie into production RIGHT after release it's not looking good for a franchise like WB wanted.
