Important Deadline Updates
Spring Application - October 15
For those applying for the spring 2014 semester, we wanted to let you know that The Common Application system is experiencing some recent technical difficulties which might prevent students from logging in to complete their submissions. We want to reassure you that although the priority deadline for the spring is October 15, we will continue to take applications on a rolling basis. If you are having difficulty logging on to The Common Application, please be patient and know that the Common Application is trying to resolve the problem. Also, you do not need to request an extension on the deadline. Admission decisions for the spring of 2014 will begin to go out in late October and will be on-going from there, until we fill the spring class. Please review the transfer application checklist for more information. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Early Action - November 1 (Freshmen only, non-binding) If you are applying for the Fall 2014 semester, take advantage of the Early Action Deadline on November 1. Past trends show higher acceptance rates for students who apply Early Action compared to Regular Decision! Some important Early Action reminders:
Freshmen film production majors must apply by the November 1 deadline.
Audition sign-ups are available online for Dance, Music, and Theatre. Students who wish to be considered for Early Action admission to these programs must audition and submit all necessary materials by December 1. Students who wish to be considered for Regular Decision in to these programs must audition and submit all necessary materials by mid-February.
* Important Update About The Common Application Due to ongoing technical problems with this year's version of The Common Application, many colleges are having difficulty receiving and processing information through The Common Application's online system. Because of this delay, it is taking our office longer than usual (sometimes several weeks) to update applicants regarding the status of their application. Please be assured that Chapman is aware of these issues and we will work with you to make sure your application materials are received and evaluated appropriately. If you have any questions, please contact us at (714) 997-6711 or [email protected].
Top 3 Application Tips:
Apply using your name as it appears on your driver's license or passport.
Make sure you include the mailing address you would like your admission decision sent to. If you have already applied and want to change your preferred address, please log on to WebAdvisor. If you don't know what WebAdvisor is, click here.
If you are applying to a talent program, remember to submit your Common Application and Chapman Arts Supplement.
Sign Up for a Fellows Interview
Chapman's Admission Fellows Program provides prospective students the opportunity to meet with current Chapman student leaders for an informational and evaluative conversation. Fellows are also available to answers questions about the Chapman community from the interviewee or their parents. The interview is used by the admission committee as an additional aid in the application review process. The interviews are offered both on campus and over the phone or Skype. Register online if you are an interested high school senior.
CU Counselors Team with Prospective Students for Habitat Restoration
Every year during our Fall travel season our counselors get involved with local service organizations in their territories to give back to the communities where they find our great students. This year two of our admission counselors, Chris Helvajian and Kelly Woodward, spent some time in the San Francisco Bay Area to connect with prospective students during a number of interviews, and spent an afternoon working with Acterra and some prospective students on habitat restoration in the Redwood Forest Nature Preserve in Los Altos. It was a great way to spend an afternoon giving back to the community, while connecting with the local community and students. Read more about the adventure »
