Dolce & Gabbana - The New Princes
‘Dolce & Gabbana’s New Princes’ is an article from BoF that explains the newcomers, where Dolce and Gabbana have introduce regular people that are still known to the world of tween idols and entertainers.
I personally found this information whilst using my social media. Following some of these bloggers and digital entertainers myself on Twitter and Instagram, I saw their partaking in walking the mens Dolce & Gabbana show 2017 in Milan. For many this was a proud moment, watching their idols walk a successful brand’s runway at fashion week. To the ‘New Princes’ themselves, they found the experience exiting and were honoured to have been asked to take part.
I think that this was a highly successful way for not only the ‘New Princes’ to get involved and gain recognition, but for the brand itself to create more advertisement and promote themselves as these bloggers/ you tubers have a huge following on their channels. For example Jim Chapman: Youtube subscribers: combination of 3.6 million, Twitter followers: 2 million. And also Cameron Dallas: Youtube subscribers: 5.2 million, Twitter Followers: 9.75 million. Dolce & Gabbana tweeted themselves how they wanted to include real people in their show which was taken with pride for their brand. By using famous people like this, it brings more recognition for the internet community where their fans will spread promotion continuously.
I was highly impressed with the show itself, the collection for Fall - Winter 2017/18 was stunning with the location reflecting the royalty theme. The garments were sophisticated and had a military trend throughout. There was a mix of traditional smart wear however it is extremely appealing to the modern, younger generation, featuring appliquéd jackets and embroidered blazers.
