To all the people that are waiting on tomorrow to make a change in their lives...😩No "New Year new me" this way, I purpose to kill the old me daily as I live for HIM! #godinthemidst #nonewyearsresolutions #newresolve #oldmedieseveryday
I've spent the last week in the hospital (yes, again) thinking about my Savior and the Atonement. It is extremely hard for me to even try to imagine what it took for not only Jesus to perform his act of sacrifice, but for Heavenly Father to have to see him go through the agony and not intervene. As a parent, I know I could never ask such a thing...for one to give up their life for the other! It is an ultimate act of love and devotion. I am SO grateful for this gift although I struggle to understand it's magnitude. I DO understand, however, that there is ONE who knows first-hand the pain that I suffer. For this, I am profoundly grateful and touched. I do not know where I am headed, but I know that I've been given a mission in this world. Yes, my burdens seem overwhelming at times...but I have discovered that if I ponder the great Atonement, my load lightens a bit and I am able to gain some perspective. I can't promise to never hit that low again, but I promise that I will fight it. I will fight to remember that I am loved...even so that the Almighty has sunk below all to save me. Even the thought is astonishing and amazing to me. But I have felt the truth of it this week. This is a truth I hope never to forget. So now...a new beginning. A renewed resolve to try my best and look heavenward when discouraged.
