Entering a newsagent for the first time, I was amazed at the plethora of magazines and newspapers on the shelves. One could pretty much find every kind that suited one’s interests and needs. I would get myself every weekend one of the newspapers and on regular basis the Readers Digest that I used as a tool for English improvements. Later on I also began to subscribe to a magazine called Focus that published articles that ranged from science, nature to extraterrestrial discoveries.
I would say I learned so much from the different magazines. It was also from one of them that I learned when the British said Asians ... they didn’t mean Japanese.
