The way I’m only on Riptide #70 and haven’t encountered the Dark Puckered Hole yet, and yet I still had a visceral reaction to hearing the reference to it

I had an opportunity to practice recently (for a day), and I was doing pretty well until I asked my friends for a recipe for pouleau crud, which seems to consist of the same basic ingredients as the croque monsieur. One of my friends called it poulet crouton and I was relieved until I saw Google Translate suggested an alternate, less dignified spelling. "I guess they couldn't figure out which dish that French word could come from," I thought.

But then it occurred to me that I could just google "pouleau crud recipe" or some such, and maybe Google would know. So I googled it. And guess what the top Google hit is for "pouleau crud recipe"?

The recipe for Poulet Crud, translated by Google Translate itself.

I don't know what it is, exactly, but it involves pouleau (hen) and crud together.

So I guess it's not a bad spellchecker after all!
