Happy #InternationalWomensDay to the female kaijus in the Godzilla Franchise!
Redesigning Newzilla for fun as a serious monster
Yes I mean the love interest of Godzilla in that Dr. Pepper commercial
In Toho’s roster eye beam mean one of two things: the monster is mystical, or is a cyborg/robot.
Probably not the first. So her eyes have been cybernetically replaced.
Her rampage thus likely comes after her breaking away from her captors experimenting on her and trying to turn her into a cyborg weapon akin to Gigan.
As for how to include the bow: make it a flesh-covered horn structure. It may even be an attempt at a control device control device like Stegorus from Fireman (who I honetly believe was inspired by earlier concept art of Titanosaurus that had their antennae be artificial.)
Never knew about this poster till recently, neat.
Yes, it does exist.
Now here’s something I decided to try doing recently, seen various art designs for Godzilla and many other Kaiju online, so wanted to give it a shot, wasn’t really sure who but then decided to go for a more obscure/out there Kaiju from the 2nd Godzilla Dr. Pepper commercial, which most fans call Newzilla (went with that name in the drawing and attempted looking up a way to write it in Japanese though that likely isn’t accurate on my end >_<)
Did draw just a base originally but I wanted to work on improving my skills by doing more poses and even drawing the back and such to give a clearer idea on how the design works. Also added a few nods to her like the Can in her hand, her shirt having light blue lines referencing her eye beams (?), even added a little homage to the Godzilla 84 poster on the back plus a few others. I really liked how this turned out
Not God . . .
