Spoilers for Kuya’s Glimpse of Falsehood Card/

I really enjoyed Kuya’s newest card because I feel like it very neatly sums up a lot of Kuya’s development these past years and it shows why someone like Eiden is perfect for Kuya.

Kuya needs someone like Eiden, who is stubborn and will stand by him even to his own detriment. Eiden will continue loving Kuya despite how prickly and fickle he might act. He’ll keep loving him despite his worst traits and that is very important for Kuya because we know he had a lot of self hatred.

Also I loved seeing Kuya actively turn his back on whatever secret was in the whirlpool because Year 1 Kuya would have not done that and lowkey let Eiden drown.

i found a method to do this faster, which is great because i was getting really fucking tired of it taking weeks to go through this. so basically, now i'm done picking out all the latines and marking them.

notes of interest:

chapter 2 includes lengthy dickensian interactions with place/setting, and since those words are mostly indigenous to the area and that sort of thing tends to pre-date latin exposure, i'm citing that as the relatively lesser amount of latinates.

chapter 4 includes the latinate-speakers making the biggest appearance thus far, hence the increase here.

i am not incapable of not thinking about the source of the words i use. i have unlocked hithertofore unmatched levels off obsessiveness!

there is no word for purple in old english.

through this process, i learned a lot about french, and a lot about german, and also have a newfound appreciation for dutch. also old english grammar is fucking delicious.

i find it hysterical that english swallowed its singular 2nd person (thou) into its plural 2nd person (you) just to re-create the plural 2nd person (y'all) a few hundred years later

fuck the oxford english dictionary being paid (and SUPER expensive to boot) (boot comes from french)
