#let me know which of YOUR 🫵 favourite cursed nfl franchises i should do next #i started one for the lions aaaageeeeesssss ago so i might try to finish it sometime #OBVIOUSLY need to do the bengals #tried to do one for the ravens but the colour grading was kinda pissing me off so idk if it's ever gonna see the light of day lmao #truly i will do any and all teams who are in the midst of slash have suffered through extended periods of bottomless misery #anyway speaking of misery let me talk some more about the bears #lowkey the biggest challenge about doing this webweave was having to decide what to include and what to leave out #so here are some particular horrifying ones that didn't make it into the final version:#obviously everyone knows how the bears have never a 4000 yard passer #but did you guys know that chicago have only had 6 quarterbacks start every game in a season in the last 40 years #and since 1992 they've had 37 different players start at qb #then obviously you have a revolving door of head coaches and offensive coordinators #that story about how caleb william's (allegedly) considered playing in the ufl as to avoid being drafted by the bears #and the reports about caleb having to watch film by himself cause nobody could be bothered to help him out #insane insane insane insane #ANYWAY it's all good though not to worry ben johnson is gonna fix everything and then we'll win the superbowl yayyy!!!!#also shoutout to beloved tumblr user realtapiocafan #whose bryce young webweave gave me the push to finally finish this everyone check her out she's so great <3 #chicago bears #caleb williams #justin fields #mitch trubisky #i refuse to tag every single doomed bears quarterback i simply cannot be bothered #nfl webweaving #i'm especially proud of that last slide btw :) if any of u care <333

#jon bois voice: the new york jets don't play football— football just kinda happens to them #i always wanna link my sources BUT #tumblr hates me and won't let me add more than one link per post without crashing so i'm just gonna talk about some of the slides #slide 5 is a picture of the superbowl iii in 1969 which was won by the jets (their one and only super bowl title to this day)#slide 6 is about the 2009‐2011 nyj—which in all fairness were pretty solid teams: made it to back-to-back afc championship games #(and lost both of them))#and haven't been back to the playoffs since #slide 7 GARRETT WILSON MENTION because i love him <33333 #slide 8 obviously had to include the butt fumble #(this whole webweave ended up pretty mark sanchez centric for whatever reason lol)#idk why i included this randon gif tbh i had a Vision and it turned out kinda meh?#but by that point i had spent so much time making it that i didn't really gaf anymore #SLIDE 9 OKAYYYYYY while i was doing Professional Research (scrolling through reddit) i found out that apparently #in 1999 the jets were superbowl contenders coming off a 12-1 season with their quarterback vinny testaverde #and then. in the first game of the season vinny tore his acl #which is eerily similiar to what happened with rodgers in 2023 so OBVIOUSLYYYYYY i was always gonna find a way to include that #and then i just committed to the whole past/present as reoccurring events. or like. mirrors of each other i guess #the sam darnold/geno smith thing was meant to kinda mention how a lot of QBs perform poorly on the jets #and as soon as they leave new york they end up realising whatever potential people saw in them #anyway tldr the jets are genuinely a deeply cursed franchise #but i hope i could do them justice <3 #never know what to tag these with #new york jets #nfl webweaving #also if we're being honest it's been WAYYYY more than 15 years of misery but oh well #i keep making webweaves about teams that are Not The Bengals lmao but one day i'll get there #pinky promise #if anyone has a good hanif bengals quote PLEEEASEEEEEEE send it to me #i've been thinking maybe the underdog one (“the history of an underdog can be distilled down to their brightest moment #and then held on to forever“) but it's VERY short so idk
