Same! They both have the capacity for strong musical expression, imo. They just need to work on that and consistency and they’ll both be hard to beat, I’d think, with few exceptions.

Considering Shoma is the only one still who can land the 4F and Yuzuru actually talked about the 4A AGAIN today (Brian tell your student to chill for 2 seconds he’s on his way to breaking another record already with his GPF golds), I get the feeling both Nathan and Shoma are going to be aiming to put 6 quads in their programs as soon as their bodies can handle it, because it’s the only way to keep up with Yuzuru’s base score at this point. And they’re so young that they’ll be able to do it too. Yuzuru is older so his time will run out before theirs (pity how age-oriented athletics is but that’s just biology). Javier and Patrick are both on their way to retiring within the next year or two; they’re both 25 (Patrick’s 26th birthday is soon!) and skating-wise past their prime. Although I’d like for Javier to be able to defend his title at Worlds again this season (pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease), it’s going to be Nathan and Shoma’s time very very soon.
