Dream: The Beauty and the Beast-Spy-Guy...
I dreamt that a modern-day man, whether under circumstances purposeful or accidental, became the Beast from The Beauty and the Beast.
Whether he was a spy before or after the incident, I don’t remember, but I lean towards the probability that he had at least a decent amount of training. Really, the dream is just flashes and snippets of things that I’ve kind of got a decently coherent story line from.
For instance, I know near the beginning of the dream he met a woman, but I don’t fully remember the first interaction all that well. My best guess is that she was in some kind of trouble, and he got her out, only to be hurt in the process. It was during the night, so she wraps either his cloak or a blanket around him and sneaks him into her house. There she helps tend to his wounds, and they gain a sort of connection.
After that, whenever he’s in trouble, he finds a way to get to her house and hide or get help from her in another way. I remember that she made the entrance to her basement hidden so that if someone suspected he was there, they wouldn’t be able to search it.
The best thing is when he’s at her house, and this feeling of serenity overtakes him. She then walks into the room and is startled to see not a beast but a man. He initially thinks that the robe she had him wear (she got it as a gift for him) is responsible in some way, but they figure out soon enough that it’s actually about his state of mind. When he’s feeling a particular kind of relaxed (I suspect a peace that comes from being around/thinking of someone you loooovve), he is able to be in his human form again. Well, they basically hook up as a couple immediately after that with things like kissing and maybe something else? I can’t really remember too well, only that they were on a bed together, but not what they were doing. It could have been discussing the plot to a movie they’d just watched for all I know.
Anyway, the part of the dream I remember most vividly is when the Beast was at the airport to escort someone. He was able to maintain his human form fairly well at that point, so he was managing to blend in with the crowd. I remember them being on a plane (probably), but something went awry. I can’t remember much of the details, but it ended with the Beast (now transformed because something damaged his calm), the escortee, and some other random guy who helped them leaving the airport. They managed to shake the security or whatever it was that was after them, but the beast decided to run on ahead with the escortee in his arms, having the other guy kind of follow. He makes his way to his girlfriend’s house where he dumps (okay, well, not literally--I think he actually slides him down a chute?) the escortee into the basement to hide him. She helps him get calm again, and he transforms back into a human. They start kissing when he notices the other guy jogging down the street towards where the house is.
He kind of grumbles and closes his eyes, rubbing his head, weighing his options. As the guy’s almost in front of the house, he’s like, “I’m sorry about this,” to his girl, goes outside and grabs the guy who’d helped them earlier. The guys starts flipping out a bit because he didn’t see the Beast’s human form before, but the Beast is like, “Shut up, it’s just me. I have a human form,” and the other guys like, “Oh, uh, okay?” He then has him go into the basement, and his girlfriend’s all, “What the actual eff? Why didn’t you at least tell me there was going to be ANOTHER guy you were gonna toss in my basement?” He says, “Well, I wasn’t sure I was actually going to bring him in on this. I don’t know who he is, where he’s from, or why he decided to help us. The more people I bring here, the more likely someone is to reveal that you’re helping me, and that puts you at more risk. At the same time, though, if this guy is just legitimately helping me, I couldn’t live with myself if I let him get captured.” She kind of sighs and is like, “Well, talk with me about this beforehand next time, okay?”
And then they notice that some guys are going down her street, knocking on individual doors. He loses his calm again, so he transforms back into a beast, but it doesn’t particularly matter too much, as she just has him hide in the basement like she’d do anyway. He quietly has the two men hide in different locations in the basement, while he stays close to the door so that he can know what’s going on at the front door.
The guys eventually get to her door, asking a few questions and then asking if they can have a look around her house. She let’s them have a look around, but they don’t find anything (including the secret entrance to the basement), so they leave. She waits until nightfall when she can cover her windows without looking suspicious before she has the Beast come up from his hiding spot.
I think I was waking up at this point, so I don’t remember anything else. Still, it was a fun little dream, highly likely inspired in some way by the Full Metal Alchemist movie I watched last night with my husband (Star of Milos? I think?) wherein there are “wolf chimeras” that transform between man and man-wolf guys (more at will than at... “calm”?), and they’re spies. Still, my dream was much more details than their particular part of the plot, which was just to be watch dogs for this guy, so there’s that, I guess.
