There had been difficulties in Albert accepting his son-in-law, not for anything Pierre had done, he was simply protective of his daughters. Pierre had won him around eventually though and while the King nervously sat in one of the drawingrooms waiting for news, which his staff kept him well informed of, he was practically twinkling when Pierre came in with his new grandchild.

“---Congratulations, -Pierre, welcome to --fatherhood.” He said kindly and genuinely as he approached and he felt his heart skip a beat as he was offered the baby, elated as he took the little bundle in his arms to look him over.

“Look at -him.” He about purred as he regarded his first grandchild, “-He will be a --handsome boy.” He guessed but was quite convinced of it as he looked back to Pierre with that same smile. “You will --make a -fine -father, you and Lilibet will raise any --child with -sense and love...” He looked back to the baby happily and confident in his assessments. “And you -shall be the -luckiest -boy in the world with such -wonderful -parents.” He lowered his voice to a mocked whisper, “And -brilliant -grandparents -too.”
