Here seems to lie one hundred words. Melville did not write this, but he probably physically wrote each of these words at least once, so we could quote Melville as saying, “Here seems… to lie [one] hundred… words”. Is this a misattribution? Was it actually Nietzsche? No. It was Jesse Wise. So yes, it was a misattribution, but Nietzsche did not write it. Should we include a paragraph break in order to stretch our century? Yes. Perhaps we should not have, though, because we are seeing how futile our efforts are when we try so hard, and got not far.
