Okay so friend, if I want to start listening to Russian music what do I start with ?
God, I am absolutely the wrong person to answer this XD I started getting into russian music because pre-teen me was a closeted bisexual who found out about a faux-lesbian duo, t.A.T.u., and to this day every russian artist I listen to has either worked with them, had a song covered by them, or made some kind of homage to them XD
If you are going to give them a try, I recommend you start with the songs that are in english so you see if you like their style, and if you do then you move on to the russian songs, because it can be a little hard to enjoy music in a language you're not familiar with, as it ends up sound just like some weird noises at first (especially if you're not used to hearing foreign music). Even the group I based my username on, "Nichya", is made by the woman who helped create t.A.T.u. and co-wrote their biggest hit "All The Things She Said/я сошла с ума" (plus t.A.T.u. has a song called "Nichya". These bitches own me XD )
Also warning: they have a tendency to yell A LOT, and sometimes they do it right after basically whispering the first verses of the song, so don't be fooled and save yourself some heart-attacks XD
