sunisa + sky for the drabble asks :3c
HI NICK!!! it's always sunisa hours in this household. have a future fic where they're all roommates living together :)
sky + sunisa
By the time Sakura arrives home, the sky has already darkened into a deep violet, bedazzled with scattered stars and a crescent moon hanging high. Work kept him busier than he thought it would, and he's starving.
When he opens the door, he's surprised to find that the lights are mostly off. Normally, he would call out to let the other two know of his presence, a habit he had to learn when they first moved in together. But now, he keeps his mouth zipped, trying to figure out why it's so quiet.
He walks past the kitchen, a smile pulling at his lips when he sees the leftover dinner set aside for him. He can tell Nirei made it because of the post-it note slapped onto the container's lid, but there's a teapot next to it too, its aroma comforting and warm in the way that only Suo can create.
When Sakura enters the living room, he finally spots his roommates.
Suo's eye flickers open the moment Sakura shuffles in. He's leaning back on the couch with a book held loosely in his hands. On his lap is a tuft of blond hair, Nirei's quiet snores filling the room, and his phone has fallen onto the floor. No wonder neither of them read his messages.
"Hi," Suo whispers. "Welcome home, Haruka-kun. Dinner is in the kitchen."
"I saw." Sakura nods, and he can't exactly explain the lump forming in his throat the longer he stares at this sight. "Sorry I'm late."
Suo waves his apology away. At the same time, Nirei stirs, flipping around. His eyes search the room until they land on Sakura, and with an unintelligible groan, he reaches out in his general direction.
"What?" Sakura huffs, coming closer.
He kneels down, and when Nirei manages to grab for his shirt, he tugs him forward until he can press a kiss to Sakura's forehead. "Welcome back," he slurs before sleep overtakes him again and his eyes flutter shut.
Sakura's chest floods with a warm, gooey feeling. His gaze flickers up to Suo for an explanation on why they're both so tired, but he's a little taken aback by the terribly fond expression written so openly across his face.
Suo seems to realise it too, for he covers it up smoothly with a cheeky grin, asking, "Where's my welcome home kiss?"
Idiot. "Shut up," Sakura replies gruffly, leaning over to grant Suo's wish anyway.
