The leading character (portrayed by Rob Stewart) from the TV show "Tropical Heat / Sweating Bullets" became somewhat of a cultural icon in Serbia during the troublesome 90's. I was in elementary school back then and Nick Slaughter was worshiped as a modern God in the eyes of my classmates. The Serbian student movement embraced the character with humor as their trademark during the months-long protests against Slobodan Milošević's regime in 1996/97.
