"why does nick get to be happy?"
"do you think it's possible to love someone second hand? to love someone you've never met?"
i shrug. my head hurts. maybe. that's a pretty romantic idea, loving someone you've never met. someone you never can meet.
nick walks into the room right then. he sits on the edge of the bed, and then flops down on his back. lune shifts next to me uncomfortably.
have you apologized to barry yet?
"n-no," he whines. "i'm s-so stupid."
"i said you're stupid. you're a goddamn idiot, you know that?" he gets up on his knees and moves towards nick across the bed. he shoves his hands in his pockets and leans over his counterpart's head, gritting his teeth. "why do you get barry?"
"what are you t-talking about?"
lune looks like he wants to choke nick, or maybe himself. he clenches his jaw. "nothing, i'm talking about nothing."
he gets up and walks downstairs, like it's really nothing.
