nick: my future boyfriend must be brave, strong, intelligent, successful, and organized
seth: *steps on a caterpillar and proceeds to drop to his knees and sob while apologizing profusely*
nick: that one. i want that one

Summary:
Seth Gray was not stupid. He was dumb. There was a difference.
But as they say: dumb gets the job done.
(No one says that. Like, at all. But Seth’s questionable sources are not what we’re talking about right now.)

Nick knew that hair, didn’t he?
i feel so normal about these books. every day i am normal about these books.
Nick/Seth (or can be platonic) “That’s the ugliest thing I’ve seen in my life.”
Don't give me Nick/Seth and not expect me to get weird with it.
~
“That is the ugliest thing I’ve seen in my life.”
Nick turns around, ready to snipe at the person with shitty taste, but his words get caught in his throat when he sees the culprit. “I – what are you doing here?”
“Visiting D – Mox,” Seth says, grinning. The way he looks Nick up and down can’t be innocent, and Nick fights the urge to shiver as Seth licks his lips. “You’re really going to go out in that romper?”
“You really went out in those stupid boots?” Nick fires back. “You can’t give me crap when you’re the one walking out like those weird baboons.”
Seth walks into the room like he belongs there. “Those baboons have red butts,” he says, like it means something.
“Well, my butt is covered in a green and pink paisley, so,” Nick says. “Hey, you’re not here to fuck Matt too, right?”
Seth’s arm slips where it had been holding him up against the door frame. “What?! No! I – absolutely not.” His laugh is a little panicked, a little frenzied. “Jesus Christ, that would never work.”
Nick finds himself a little defensive. “What’s wrong with my brother?”
Seth eyes him. “Nothing's wrong. It's just, generally, two bottoms don’t make a good relationship.”
“Well, good thing I’m not a bottom.” And Nick will swear for the rest of his life that he said it without thinking. It was automatic, is the thing. An automatic crack, a way to differentiate himself from his brother.
But Seth’s laugh sounds like how candy tastes. “Good to know, Nicky.” And he definitely winks as he walks away.
