hello!!! i just wanted to let you know that i've noticed some of the posts you've made/reblogged recently and that i am SO PROUD of you for getting through the day and the week and the month and the year. you're so strong and brave and i know it really sucks to have to be those things, but i hope you're proud of yourself for the effort you put in to be strong and brave and get through it 💖

listen, my pals. i started tumblr rping in a hp rp many many MANY years ago. certain characters i created have a very special place in my heart. 2 out of 3 of them were OCs. 1 of them is a next gen character. if you have OCs that you love to play in a magical verse and hate jkr. come up with your own magical verse... and stop supporting the world she built?? reimagine your fave canon chars with new names, varied traits, backstories, etc???? MAGICAL rps don't have to die. just hp rps

literally lol i am talking to someone about this and i will say what i told my luv on discord, y’all act like that woman invented the concept of witches and magic. 

i think most of us joined hp rps in the past like, my first tumblr rp was a harry potter one because they used to be EVERYWHERE back then since the movies were still coming out so of course a lot of people are gonna have like, ocs and stuff based on that world but we also gotta see that back then we didn’t know what we know NOW. like back then we knew nothing about jkr’s transphobia and idk about everything else, but in my case i was pretty stupid and didn’t fully understand how many awful things are fully entrenched in that series until now. i was never a hardcore hp rper like i just joined that one rp, but i do know other people that after we began calling out the awfulness of jkr and her shitty books, they began making changes because it truly is not hard to stop supporting that woman and keeping her work alive and relevant. i think we’re all grown and educated enough to realize that mayhaps that series is better off dead and forgotten for plenty of reasons.

it really shouldn’t be hard to just come up with new stuff to stop relying on those books and like, there are other fantasy books and media y’all can use as inspiration like i never read the books, but i used to watch the the worst witch tv show (the original one with a fetus felicity jones!!!) and thats a pretty cute series that features girlies in magical schools? just say the school it not just for girls lol idk!!! the world is ur oyster
