Don't know who knows or doesn't know, but I am adopted. I was on holiday this week to the city my biological mother is from. I have visited twice before but this was the first time with friends. I am not going to rant about how people should all adjust their behaviour in group travel and not expect one person to completely go against everything they like in travelong to please the others. That is a rant. I had a lot irl and this was the first vacation where I missed my parents and wished to be home. Anyway, my mom and I called each other one evening while I had a breakdown. Since I really needed to hear a familiar voice and needed someone to talk with. The city didn't feel right this time. This was the first time I didn't feel happy while visiting, was emotional all the time, and really missed my mother at my side. So my mom asked if it might be time that I started the search for my biological mother. I have thought about it before, but never felt ready. I still do not know what I should do and am looking for advice everywhere. It is just something quite big and I don't know if I am ready.

I have to share this, but I did it. I got a job in human trafficking research where I will do research and help with projects to help with online outreach, victim identification, etc. I didn't know if it would be possible, but I might actually make a change. This organisation is mostly focused on sexual exploitation and is partly a software company to design tools to make a difference in help, prevention, outreach, and searching parts. It is unreal that I will actually be able to work in this field. I am so excited!!!!

Some of you might know that I am currently working on a research and I can finally share the results.

My research showed that in cases between 2013-2021 the chances of getting compensation as a victim of human trafficking were higher if you were female or if someone abused your vulnerable position or if your cases came before a court in the randstad (metropolis/busiest few provinces in the Netherlands). And the only factor that had a significant impact on getting the highest proportion of your asked compansation as compensation, was having an immigration background. So, you had to be come from outside of the Netherlands itself.

So, human trafficking victims get the most compensation in the stereotypical cases. Which might be due to a high amount of court cases being about sexual exploitation, especially since around 3/4 of the court cases had female victims. But it could also be thanks to the idea that women are more deserving of compensation if we look at the ideal bictim theory from Christie.

I can't wait to share more insights, but for now I am still working on my discussion, so that is all.

I have a wedding in May from a friend. She is the first of the group to get married and she asked if all her friends could come in bordeaux. She also asked that the dress would be a bit more modest in particularly with regards to the neckline and not too short. Since the few dresses I wear are usually short and v neck she asked me if I could look at different necklines since even a sweetheart or cowl neckline and some boat necklines that don't show cleavage on others will show cleavage on me. I was like, alright it is your wedding of course I can find a more modest dress. Downside knee length dresses look awful on my bodytype and I find them awkward in length. So, I show her dresses from time to time and we found one she likes.
