The newly-formed organization, Team Rainbow Rocket, is planning on taking over the Pokémon world, starting with Alola. Under the leadership of Giovanni, various team leaders from different timelines will realize his dream of creating a new world—and possibly also a new universe.
Meanwhile, in another timeline far, far away, eighteen-year-old Silver has retired from battling and now works as a Pokémon researcher in New Bark Town. After suffering an traumatic ordeal that's left him scarred and broken inside, he finds himself flying through an Ultra Wormhole and ends up in the same timeline as Team Rainbow Rocket. However, things don't come easy: part of the reason why he left was to forget about Ethan, but what will happen when he comes face-to-face with his ex-rival and former best friend once again?
