❛ my grandmother taught me some of the most important things in life --- how to dress, how to hot-wire a car, how to pick a lock and how to make perfect tea. oh, and flower arrangements, too. ❜
❛ when this is over ❜ --- and i found a place for the rare orchid i'll steal from hudson in my new house by the sea --- ❛ i'll go climbing. ❜
auburn was sitting in her chair and was trying very hard not to move more than necessary. less than twenty-four hours ago, she had taken a hit to the knee and even thinking about bending it made her cringe --- the pain was bound to be damn close to insufferable and she knew that too well. starring at the glittering city instead of at the reports her subordinates had delivered to her, she sighed and nearly drifted off into another daydream, just before someone stepped into her office, demanding her attention.
❛ ---didn't expect to see you here today, joné, ❜ she said as she mentioned towards the free chair. ❛ is there anything i can do for you? ❜
❛ soooooo, i had tea with mrs sullivan. ❜ /// @nightchased

“--excuse me, miss, but could you direct me to the closest pharmacy?? normally, they sprout around cities like a cancer, and yet i have yet to see one and i am in desperate need of advil. i’m sure you understand, yes?”
his word came out quickly, but not too much. they were still coherent, and he was normally so. even when desperately drunk, he was able to get his POINT across. it was a nice quality, if he thinks so himself. which dion does, of course
watching the happy faces around him, frédéric was almost sure that he had pinpointed what it was that drawn freya to this city in the first place. there was a charm only smaller cities could radiate, and whatever it was called, new haven had plenty of it. it helped, of course, that new haven certainly had plenty of charming people --- such as the one who was walking next to him.
‘‘ freya texted me, earlier, ’’ he said as he slowed his pace to properly look at the blue orbs that were rising and falling slowly as they dyed everything in a shade akin to sapphires. ‘‘ apparently, there's music on the campus and, if i recall the newspaper article correctly, streetfood a quarter away from here. ’’
it had been a long time since he had actually gone to one of the festivities a city he lived in offered. all too often, it had turned out to be a tourist trap, but this did not have the feeling. for that, he was glad --- he doubted that he could have successfully pretended to enjoy something that was tailored towards tourists. and he did not want to pretend. he wanted to have a good time, he wanted that joné had fun, too.

---ELEANOR WAS not quite sure what had possessed her to seek out the other in the rare moment that she was in the precinct, but here she was: closing the door behind her to ensure that they would not be overheard. ❛ joné --- long time no see, i guess, ❜ she said, somewhat more careful than she had originally intended, but she had long learned that to enter a conversation in a fashion akin to guns blazing rarely yielded the desired outcome.
