Listen, I need to be sappy bc I just had an incredible weekend with a group of amazing Star Wars fans. Not only was it so fun to finally meet some of these people IRL, it was also powerful in so many ways. We themed our outfits to the Nightsisters of Dathomir - basically badass space witches who channel the Dark Side of the Force very differently than either Sith or Jedi. It was so cool seeing everyone’s personal style come through in their outfits & how everyone was so enthusiastic about everyone else’s looks. Yes, we took photos & attracted attention (it was a lot of RED), but so often, we’re told to be small, to be ashamed of celebrating ourselves & our effort lest we appear self-important, vain, or frivolous. And it felt so good to be with a bunch of people who were like no, we did this to celebrate our friendship & fandom & we look great & are having fun. So everyone else can just go away if they can’t handle this energy. I love that, and I love us.
