As soon as someone had started talking to him. His eyes flicked over the other before flickering over to where he could see the food.

"I don't know what you read off of me that would make you think I would be interested, but whatever it was it and you absolutely correct."

With absolutely no hesitation, Jax was reading the menu for what he could pair with it, "I find the best food are from vendors like these. Restaurants are nice, but the atmosphere is just different. Since it seems like you know this place well, what else do you suggest? One dish is certainly not going to be enough for me."

So far, her guise as an ordinary citizen had worked. Most humans during this era had access to a variety of hair products, including dyes — which helped her blue hair blend in even more. Pair that with modern attire, and her long, fluffy hair covering the small nubs of antlers on her head, she blended in quite well.

There were a few small details that indicated she wasn't quite human — the elongated fingernails, the brief glimpse of sharp teeth, pointed ears, and a rather monstrous look in her eye.

And this stranger had already deduced that she was, in fact, not human.

"You have a good eye," Annalise replied, her fingers tugging at the sleeve of her sweater.

"I'm curious as to why you've singled me out, though. Are you affiliated with the authorities? Or, is it mere curiosity?"

Two figures could be seen atop a building. One towered over the other, backing them up to the edge. The taller figure grabbed the smaller one, and then shoved them off the edge.

The smaller figure, a young girl who had gotten way in over her head once again, braced herself as she plummeted towards the ground below.

Lux had gotten overconfident. What human would be out here in the middle of the night? There was no reason to hide their vampiric features, surely. So they let their red-on-black eyes and pointy ears show, only for someone to almost immediately spot them.

“Uh, duelists?” And what did they mean by 'stray?” Lux turned around, and their eyes widened as they had to crane their neck a bit to make eye contact with the woman speaking to them. “Whoa-um-” Well that answered their earlier question- no human would be out here in the middle of the night. Who this eight-foot tall masked woman with large horns was- or what- was a mystery. Well, that was Lux's job, so...

Trying to regain their composure, and also stepping back so they didn't have to crane their neck quite so far, they continued. “Hello,” they greeted politely, eyes alight with curiosity, “Can I help you?”
